Two Vietnamese citizens who recently arrived from Japan and the Republic of Korea have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, raising the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country to 1,397, the Ministry of Health reported on Sunday evening.
According to the ministry’s report, one of the newly-reported patients is a 21-year-old man who arrived at the Danang International Airport from Japan on November 28.
He was sent to a local quarantine area upon arrival and tested positive for SAR-CoV-2 in his third testing on December 12. The patient is now being treated at the Danang Lung Hospital. DTINews reported.

The second patient is a 19-year-old woman who landed at the Danang Airport from the Republic of Korea on December 1.
She was sent to quarantine upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in her second testing on December 12.
This patient is also being treated at the Danang Lung Hospital.
With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 703.
As of 6 pm on December 13, a total of 1,241 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.
At present, over 19,992 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home, according to DTINews
