Singapore Airlines has scheduled to resume regular commercial flights to central Da Nang city of Vietnam from March 27 after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Singapore Airlines will operate one daily round trip between Da Nang and Singapore in the morning every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday; and the afternoon every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The carrier also planned to gradually raise the frequency of flights to meet the increasing demand of tourists.
Before the pandemic, Singapore was one of the key markets of Da Nang tourism, with four direct flights per day.
The resumption of regular international flights is considered a good sign for the industry of the city in its efforts of re-opening international tourism activities after a long time being affected by the pandemic.
Earlier, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam asked the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to issue a “Notice To Airmen” on the lifting of all restrictions on international flights from February 15.
After Singapore, Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, and Qatar Airways will also re-start international routes between Vietnam and other key markets such as Incheon, Busan, Jeju of the Republic of Korea; Narita of Japan, and Doha of Qatar, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
The number of passengers through Vietnamese airports topped 6.1 million so far this month, a year-on-year surge of 57.8 percent, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said.
Of the total, 105,000 are foreigners, a year-on-year increase of 350 percent. Domestic visitors exceed 6 million, up 56.1 percent. Meanwhile, cargo reaches 113,000 tonnes, up 27.6 percent year on year.
In the month, the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) has managed about 60,500 flights, up 157 percent against that in February last year, including 13,200 transit flights, up 67.4 percent.
According to Civil Aviation Authority, in February, domestic airlines have transported more than 3 million passengers, a rise of 56.8 percent year-on-year. Of the total, 39,400 are foreigners and nearly 3 million domestic.
Vietnam has reopened international routes to and from 20 countries and territories, while the number before the COVID-19 pandemic in the winter of 2019 was 28.
The frequency of international flights at present is 53 flights each way per day, far lower than the 598 ones each way per day in 2019’s winter.
