HCM CITY — Dozens of artists performed at a concert organised by the HCM City Music Conservatory to celebrate its 65th anniversary.
The online event, titled 65 Năm- Tự Hào Tiến Bước (65 Years of Developments), began on Tuesday morning and featured contemporary Vietnamese music and songs composed by famous artists over the years.
They included renowned pieces by late composers Văn Cao and Trần Hoàn.
The highlights included performances by the conservatory’s students.
”Through our concert, we hope to take our music to the public, especially young audiences,” Huỳnh Thị Thu Hiền, deputy director of the conservatory and a member of the organising board, said.
The conservatory has more than 100 lecturers in music, composing, singing, and dance, many graduates from famous music schools in Europe and the US.
They include People’s Artist and singer Tạ Minh Tâm, opera performers Thanh Nga and Ngọc Tuyền and renowned guitarists Châu Đăng Khoa, Nguyễn Trí Toàn and Thanh Huy.
The conservatory has five orchestras.
It works frequently with foreign partners to launch training courses for young artists. —VNS
