Vietnam has suspended all flights to and from Danang for 15 days starting Tuesday after at least 14 cases of the novel coronavirus had been detected in the city, the government said on Tuesday morning.
The Southeast Asian country has also suspended all passenger bus and train services to and from the city, the government said in a statement.
The city, a tourism hot spot, had reintroduced social distancing measures over the weekend after the government confirmed the first domestically-transmitted cases of coronavirus in more than three months.
Vietnam is still closed to foreign tourism, but there had been a surge in domestic travelers looking to take advantage of discounted flights and holiday packages to local resorts. Reporting by Khanh Vu and James Pearson reported on Reuters.
Monday evening, Vietnam’s central city of Da Nang reported eleven new cases of Covid-19 community transmission, this takes the country’s tally to 431.

Among the new cases, four medical staff of Da Nang Hospital have infected with the coronavirus.
The latest infections also raise the number of community transmissions in the past few days to 15 cases, the first of which broke Vietnam’s 99-day streak with no community transmission of the novel coronavirus.
Thanks to strict quarantine measures and an aggressive and widespread testing program, Vietnam has kept its virus total to an impressively low 431 cases, and reported no deaths.
