On March 17, the Ministry of Health announced 5 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infection cases to 66.
There are 2 new cases in the North including 1 case in Hanoi and 1 case in Quang Binh, 3 new cases in HCMC.
A report done by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology on March 17 shows that “Patient 62” is a 18-year-old male, located in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi. He is an international student returning from England. He landed at Van Don International Airport on March 16.
“Patient 63” is a 20-year-old female, located in C2 Mandarin Garden Apartment, Hoang Minh Giam Street, Trung Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi. Similar to “Patient 62”, “Patient 63” is also an international student returning from England. She landed Noi Bai International Airport on March 15 on flight TG564. The Hanoi Center for Disease Control has tested and unfortunately, the result is positive for SARS-CoV-2.
She and those who had close contacts with her were taken to Dong Anh Central Tropical Diseases Hospital. Tests done by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology show positive for SARS-CoV-2.
Up to now, “Patient 63” are being isolated and getting treatment at Dong Anh Central Tropical Diseases Hospital. Her health condition is stable.
According to a report done by Pasteur Institute in HCMC, on March 17, there are 3 patients who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, including:
“Patient 64” is a 36-year-old female, located in Ward 2, District 8, HCMC. She used to suffer hepatitis B. She and her boyfriend flew from Switzerland, transited to Dubai and landed to Vietnam on March 13 on flight EK392. After that, her boyfriend flew to Hong Kong, China.
On March 16, “Patient 64” was taken to the Isolation area in District 8. Currently, she is isolated in Cu Chi field hospital and has a stable health. Tests done by HCMC Pasteur Institute show that she was infected with Coronavirus.
“Patient 65” is a 28-year-old female, located in Ward 7, Go Vap District, HCMC. She works at TOTO Vietnam Co., Ltd, at 1A Pham Ngoc Thach Street, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1. She has contacted and worked with “Patient 45” and “Patient 48” on March 7 and March 10. On March 10, she felt tired and stopped working in the morning.
In the afternoon of March 11, her company stopped working and she isolated herself at home. On March 13, she was taken to the Isolation area in District 8 and tested. Currently, she hasn’t had any signs of cough, fever or shortness of breath. She has been moved to Cu Chi field hospital. Tests done by HCMC Tropical Diseases Hospital on March 17 show positive for SAR-CoV-2.
