On April 24th, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism sent a document to the Departments of Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of provinces and cities, requesting enhanced safety measures during the holiday period of April 30th – May 1st and the peak summer tourism season of 2024.
Specifically, businesses in the tourism sector were instructed to strictly implement Directive No. 36/CD-TTg dated April 11, 2024, issued by the Prime Minister, concerning ensuring order and safety in traffic to accommodate the increased travel demands of the public.
Management boards of tourist sites, travel enterprises, tourist accommodation facilities, and related businesses were tasked with intensifying self-inspection, monitoring, and maintaining service quality; ensuring environmental hygiene; food safety and hygiene; closely monitoring fire prevention and firefighting activities; strengthening inspections of firefighting and rescue equipment; adhering to etiquette and behavioral norms in tourism; ensuring traffic safety; managing parking areas; and safeguarding tourist vehicles. Sites with water-based entertainment services and tourist transport providers were to rigorously enforce security measures for tourists. Transport and travel companies were instructed not to use vehicles that are unregistered or fail to meet safety standards when serving tourists.
