Anticipating an increase in passenger travel demand during this period, Vietravel Airlines plans to increase the frequency of major routes such as Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi to 2-3 round trips per day and Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang to 2 round trips per day.
A representative of the airline stated that they will continue to monitor ticket booking trends and popular destinations to coordinate with aviation authorities to increase frequencies accordingly.
Additionally, in April, Vietravel Airlines is also ramping up charter flights to the Japanese market, facilitating travel from Vietnam to this promising market and vice versa.
As of now, the ticket prices for April 30th – May 1st holiday period with Vietravel Airlines show little difference compared to the same period last year, with many fare options available for each route.
With some airlines halting the operation of A321 aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines for maintenance, leading to a reduced supply in the market, Vietravel Airlines advises passengers to plan and book their tickets early to avoid last-minute booking situations or higher fares.
Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines is increasing the frequency of flights to Con Dao since March. The airline operates an average of 26 to 30 flights daily between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao, representing nearly a 50% increase compared to February.
Furthermore, the airline is doubling its flights to Dien Bien during the holiday period with a frequency of 2 flights per day.
Similarly, the railway sector is adding extra SE35/SE36 trains departing and arriving at Hanoi and Vinh stations from April 25th to May 1st to accommodate the travel needs of the public. Specifically, the NA3 train departs from Hanoi station on April 26th-27th, and the NA4 train departs from Vinh station on April 30th-May 1st.
According to statistics from the General Statistics Office, in the first two months of the year, the passenger transportation sector is estimated to have transported 809 million passengers, an increase of over 9% compared to the same period in 2023.
