
The square area includes reliefs, podiums, fountain statues, stages, main squares, observation decks, reception houses, and supporting facilities.
The cultural-historical reconstruction area includes exhibition houses and reconstruction spaces, representing the culture and history of Can Gio.
The sports area includes a cafeteria, swimming pool, volleyball court, 2 badminton courts, and 2 tennis courts.
The supporting area includes parking lots, common management buildings, toilets, pumping stations, water tanks, power stations, green trees, and internal traffic.
In addition to the large square, Can Gio is also planned as a coastal urban area with parks, golf courses, resorts, stadiums, a 108-storey building, making it a regional entertainment and tourism destination.
Can Gio covers an area of 71,300 hectares, with over 70,000 people, located about 50 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. It is the only coastal area of the city with a length of 23 km, many rivers and canals, mangrove forests, and natural conditions for developing tourism, and international-scale resort urban areas.
Five years ago, the 1/5,000 scale planning project for the Can Gio coastal tourist urban area covering 2,870 hectares in Long Hoa commune and Can Thanh town was approved. Recently, the project has been studied by the district for adjustments to fit reality. The partial adjustment of the Can Gio urban area planning project will serve as a basis for detailed planning and preparation for investment and construction.
The Can Gio coastal urban area planning includes 5 functional subdivisions, including: A (conference center, children’s facilities, culture, commercial and service facilities), B (cultural center, sports, commercial and service facilities), C and D (both are commercial and service facilities), E (park, public space, artificial beach). The urban area has a scale of over 228,000 people.
