HÀ NỘI — A photo collection depicting the magnificent natural beauty of the cave system in the Krông Nô volcano in the Central Highlands province of Đắk Nông has won an Excellent Prize, the highest award of the 2022 Literature and Arts Prizes.
The collection by photographer Ngô Minh Phương was among the top nine Excellent Prize winners at an awards ceremony held by the Việt Nam Union of Literature and Arts Associations on Wednesday in Hà Nội.

The “Bình Dương House” – a project of new-style rural houses developed by architects Phan Lâm Nhật Nam and Trần Cẩm Linh was also among the nine winners.
The list of Excellent Prize winners was also included the Bách Khoa Thư Làng Việt Cổ Truyền (Encyclopedia of Traditional Vietnamese Villages) by Bùi Xuân Đính from the Việt Nam Folk Literature and Art Association.
Other Excellent Prizes were also presented to the dance Con Đường Tìm Muối (On the Way to Find Salt) by choreographer Phạm Thanh Tùng from the Lai Châu Province’s Centre of Literature and Arts, and the cải lương (reformed opera) play Đất Liền và Biển Cả (Mainland and Sea) by Nguyễn Đăng Chương and staged by the Hải Phòng Cải Lương Troupe, and the documentary Hai Bàn Tay (The Two Hands) by director Đặng Thị Linh from the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio.
The round mural painting implemented by artist Nguyễn Văn Mạc and his team from the Việt Nam Association of Fine Arts, depicting the historic Điện Biên Phủ military campaign in 1954 at the Museum of Điện Biên Phủ Victory in Điện Biên Province also won an Excellent Prize.
Other winners include the poem collection Mây Trôi Phía Làng (Cloud Drifting towards the Village) by poet Lê Đình Tiến of the Việt Nam Association of Writers, and the song Ơi Con Sông Mặt Trời (The River of the Sun) by Nguyễn Đình Nghĩ from the Việt Nam Composers’ Association.

The organiser also presented five First Prizes to the photo collection Thủ Thiêm Bridge – A New Landmark by Lê Quang Thiện (Đà Nẵng); the painting Tin Nhắn (Message) by Nguyễn Thành Phương (Đà Nẵng); the short story collection Cõi Yêu (Realm of Love) by Trần Vân Anh (Lạng Sơn).
The thesis Đọc Một Bài Thơ (Reading a Poem) by Lê Hồ Quang (Nghệ An); and the poem collection Mây Âm Tính (Negative Cloud) by Võ Văn Luyến (Quảng Trị) are also the works that were given the First Prize.
In addition, the organiser has also presented 10 Second Prizes and 19 Third Prizes to different works.
In 2022, the Việt Nam Union of Literature and Arts Associations received more than 400 works from 61 local associations nationwide to vie for the annual awards.
According to the Chairman of the Việt Nam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, composer Đỗ Hồng Quân, all the applicant’s works have exposed creativity while depicting vividly the current topics of the country. — VNS
