The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham Vietnam) will host the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2022 at THISO SkyHall in HCMC from November 28 to 30. This event will advance EU-Vietnam sustainable development cooperation through comprehensive dialogue, investment coordination, knowledge sharing, and technology transfer.
GEFE 2022’s primary goal is to support Vietnam in meeting its COP26 commitments and to accomplish the development goals outlined in its National Green Growth Strategy for 2021-2030.
Academics, innovators, students, and policymakers from Europe, Vietnam, and Southeast Asia will participate in panel discussions, an exhibition, and business-to-business and business-to-government discussions during this ambitious three-day event.
GEFE 2022’s first day will feature a plenary conference, where high-level representatives of the European and Vietnamese governments and business stakeholders will discuss sustainable development, energy policy and climate risk management.
Representatives of EU Member States, diplomatic and trade promotion officials, and international organizations like The World Bank are confirmed to attend. EuroCham is currently arranging for a European Union Commissioner and a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) to participate.
Each of GEFE 2022’s three days will also entail panel discussions on a broad theme, including High-Level Conference Energy Production/Grid Financing Green Projects Legal Constraints, Circular Economy Green Buildings Sustainable Agriculture Water Management and Digitalization Student competition Climate Fresk Green Tourism.
The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) – under the Ministry of Industry and Trade – signed a memorandum of understanding with EuroCham on 3 October for co-organizing GEFE 2022, and strengthening links between Vietnamese and European business communities.
As part of its agreement with EuroCham, VIETRADE will provide support in recruiting Vietnamese companies and exhibitors for GEFE 2022 and its Vietnamese National Pavilion.
In addition to EuroCham and VIETRADE, GEFE 2022 is being supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, EuroCham’s nine affiliated national European business associations, European embassies and governmental organizations, as well as the Vietnamese government and its ministries.
EuroCham is also partnering with Schoolab to launch the Sustainable Innovation Lab at GEFE 2022. Students from leading universities in Asia and Europe will join forces with businesses to develop solutions to real-world business, environmental, and social problems. Schoolab, academic institutions, experts, and business professionals will provide mentoring services.
