At this time, all flights to Dien Bien for the April 30th and May 1st holidays are fully booked. Many travel companies have stopped accepting tours to Dien Bien.
According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien Province, the number of tourists visiting Dien Bien has surged, with an estimated daily influx of 3,000 to 5,000 visitors for sightseeing, tourism, and business purposes.
In the first four months of this year, the number of tourists to Dien Bien has reached 845,000, nearly doubling compared to the same period last year.
After the holiday period, starting from May 3rd, airlines will double the frequency of flights to Dien Bien to meet the demand of locals and tourists visiting Dien Bien for the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
It is expected that Dien Bien will welcome around 1.3 million visitors during this commemorative holiday.
The National Tourism Year – Dien Bien 2024 will feature up to 170 programs and events with various cultural, sports, and tourism activities. Many nationally and internationally significant events will take place throughout 2024. Specifically, there will be 13 national-level programs and events organized by central agencies; 28 programs, events, and activities organized by Dien Bien Province; and 128 responsive events organized by 33 provinces and centrally governed cities.
