On March 5th, many Facebook users in Vietnam reported that their accounts suddenly lost connection and they were forced to log in again. The message “Session ended” appeared on all logged-in devices, and users were unable to log in again even after entering the correct account information. This issue occurred during non-business hours, causing inconvenience for many people who rely on Facebook’s communication tools.
The DownDetector incident tracking page showed a significant increase in Facebook’s error reporting section, indicating that the problem was widespread and not limited to Vietnam. The number of error reports increased to over 320,000 within a few minutes, suggesting that the problem may have been global.
Instagram, another service operated by Meta, also experienced similar issues for unknown reasons. Even at 11 p.m., the system still could not operate normally.
Despite the widespread impact of this incident, Meta has not yet responded to user complaints and error reports. Many users were left feeling frustrated and confused, with some thinking that their accounts had been hacked.
