The People’s Committee of Phu Quoc City has just issued the Code of Conduct for Tourism Civility in Phu Quoc City, which includes regulations prohibiting tourists from giving money to beggars.
Mr. Huynh Quang Hung, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang), announced on February 26 that he had just signed the issuance of the Code of Conduct for Tourism Civility in Phu Quoc.
Accordingly, Article 4 of the code clearly states that tourists are not allowed to give gifts or money to children and beggars at tourist sites or along the roads; instead, they are encouraged to contribute to charity through reputable organizations.

Article 4 also stipulates norms of queuing when using services or participating in activities in public places, consuming food responsibly, controlling alcohol consumption, wearing appropriate attire when visiting religious sites, temples, and cemeteries.
Additionally, the code of conduct requires organizations and individuals engaged in tourism business activities to provide reputable, quality, and safe products, services, and goods. They must provide complete and truthful information about their products, services, and goods, publicly display prices, and sell them at the listed prices. They must also take responsibility for the environment and the local community in their tourism business activities, prioritize the use of environmentally friendly materials or locally produced goods to serve tourists.
The Code of Conduct for Tourism Civility in Phu Quoc consists of 3 chapters and 14 articles aimed at guiding the behavior, attitudes, habits, and manners of organizations and individuals participating in tourism activities in Phu Quoc.
