Changi Airport has recently released operational data for the year 2023, reporting 58.9 million passengers, reaching 86% of pre-Covid-19 levels, and an impressive 83% growth compared to the previous year.
In terms of passenger traffic, Vietnam ranks 9th among the top 10 markets for this international airport.
As of March 24 this year, international arrivals to Singapore have reached nearly 4.4 million passengers, with over 93,000 arrivals from Vietnam.
According to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), this agency is gearing up to operate Automated Border Control Systems (ABCS) for all passengers.
This initiative is part of a plan to install about 800 automated immigration gates to streamline the process and provide a seamless, efficient entry experience without the need for passport presentation upon arrival in Singapore for travelers.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has indicated that in the future, transportation and connectivity at Changi will become easier and more attractive, especially for passengers from Southeast Asia.
Changi Airport is considering reducing airline fees. This strategy is expected to boost travel demand in the region and enhance Changi’s appeal as an ideal international airport gateway, thereby providing an even better experience for passengers.
