HCM CITY — The annual HCM City Travel Fair returns from May 14 to 17 at the Lê Văn Tám Park in District 1, according to the city Department of Tourism.
To feature a wide range of activities, it is aimed at reviving the hard-hit tourism sector and stimulating domestic travel demand during summer, Lê Trương Hiền Hòa, deputy director of the department, said.
Tourism agencies from 50 cities and provinces will showcase their products and services and offer attractive discounts, and also seek to bolster linkages with HCM City, he said while speaking at a meeting on Thursday.
Nearly 50 travel agents and tourism businesses in HCM City will also participate and introduce new products and services such as helicopter tours and cruises on the Sài Gòn River and Nhiêu Lộc – Thị Nghè Canal.
There will be a major promotion campaign to bolster the image of the city as a vibrant and safe destination.
Tourist attractions, museums and amusement sites in the city will offer discounts of 10-50 per cent while tours will be sold at 10-40 per cent discounts.
A number of seminars and promotional and marketing programmes will be held, including national seminars on inter-provincial travel links, and the opportunities and challenges in summer travel, medical tourism and farm trips —VNS
