Coastal hotels and tourist attractions in Da Nang have begun to be busier than in the epidemic months.
Last week, Mr. Dinh Van Loc, Director of Viet Da Tourism Joint Stock Company (Viet Da Travel), urgently recruited personnel and detailed planning for the 2022 tourism season.
“In the short term, we are ready for delegations to visit Da Nang, Hoi An and Phu Quoc on this International Women’s Day – March 8,” Mr. Loc said, adding that hundreds of delegations have registered to join the company’s tours.
Tourists return to Da Nang
According to Mr. Loc, due to the impact of the epidemic, the tourism industry had to “freeze” for the past 2 years. The Government’s permission to welcome international visitors is like untying for tourism businesses.
“Seizing this opportunity, businesses have made detailed plans to welcome guests. Over the past time, thousands of delegations have also come to Thua Thien – Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An to visit and relax”, according to Mr. Loc.
Nguyen Thi Ha (Hanoi tourist) said that in the past 2 years, the whole family had to stay at home to cope with the pandemic, so everyone has a pressing mentality. When the aviation industry reopened, the localities welcomed guests back. Ha’s wife and husband immediately applied for a leave of absence to visit Da Nang and Hoi An.
“The children also study online, so it doesn’t affect much. My family went on this trip for about 7 days. Son Tra peninsula, Nui Than Tai hot spring, Hoi An ancient town, etc. are the places we will visit,” said Ha.
Similarly, Mr. Le Ngoc Binh (living in Ho Chi Minh City) and 7 people in the large-displacement car association also arrived in Da Nang last weekend. This group of guests made their own motorbikes to travel through many provinces and cities and then chose Da Nang as a place to stop.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve ridden on large displacement motorcycles going through winding roads. A wonderful, simple feeling that took 2 years to get,” said Mr. Binh. Recently, his team had to stay at home to cope with the Covid-19 epidemic, so there was no chance to travel.
As a member of Mr. Binh’s group, Mr. Trong (living in Ho Chi Minh City) said that after arriving in Da Nang, the group went to a coastal villa to relax. “The 6-room villa costs just over 3 million VND/night, so why not stay. Da Nang is beautiful, so even though I’ve been there many times, I’m still not bored,” said Mr. Trong. During the days in Da Nang, the group drove a large displacement vehicle along the way to the top of Hai Van and Son Tra mountains to watch the clouds.
The tourism industry is flourishing
As Zing noted, currently most of the coastal hotels in Da Nang have been operating again. From the Lunar New Year onwards – when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, hotels on Hoang Sa, Truong Sa and Vo Nguyen Giap streets almost turned off their lights and closed their doors.
But about 2 months ago, when the number of tourists started coming to Da Nang for tourism and relaxation, the accommodation facilities here were bustling. Restaurants on Nguyen Van Thoai, Pham Van Dong and coastal routes from Da Nang to Hoi An have also opened their doors to welcome guests.
The representative of Sheraton Grand Danang resort said that from January 1 to now, the resort has welcomed more than 1,600 guests to stay. The resort’s occupancy rate recently reached about 57%, which is a good sign that guests are returning to Da Nang.
Although it has just reopened since February 8, Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Resort is also becoming a destination chosen by locals and tourists. Nearly a month ago, this resort welcomed tens of thousands of tourists to visit, play, relax and take care of health.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Chairman of Danang Hotel Association, said that over the past time hundreds of thousands of delegations have visited the tourist destination. 4-5 star hotels and resorts are also more crowded than before. Chairman of Danang Hotel Association forecast that from March 15 (when it is allowed to welcome international guests), the tourism industry will prosper.
Deputy director of Da Nang Department of Tourism, Nguyen Xuan Binh, also said that currently, 45% of tourist accommodation establishments are open to serve domestic guests and are also ready to welcome international guests. About 150 tour operators have resumed operations. Almost all tourist areas and attractions have also opened to welcome guests.
