Vietnam reported 121 new Covid-19 patients from 6 am to 12 pm on June 18, comprising two from abroad, according to the Ministry of Health.
The two cases from abroad were confirmed in Dong Thap and Thai Nguyen provinces.
The majority of 119 locally-infected patients were found in isolation or locked down areas.
HCM City accounted for the highest number with 59 cases, including seven related to the Christian mission cluster, 24 tied to Trung Son Food Joint Stock Company located in Tan Tao Industrial Park and eight others are under epidemiological investigation.
It was followed by Bac Giang with 36, Binh Duong with 12, Bac Ninh with 10, Hoa Binh with one and Lao Cai with one. The source of the Lao Cai case has remained unknown and is also under epidemiological investigation.
To date, the country has logged a total 10,755 domestic infections and 1,669 ones from abroad. Around 4,653 patients have been discharged from hospital.
A total of 24 provinces have experienced 14 days without detecting any new cases of local transmission.
