A woman in Hanoi has tested positive again for Covid-19 right after being released from a local hospital.
According to the Hanoi Centre for Disease Control, Patient 1819, who is a 51-year-old woman in Dich Vong Ward, Cau Giay District, was sent to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on January 31.
After being treated, she then tested negative for Covid-19 for the three times in a row on February, 14, 17 and 20 before being discharged from hospital on February 21.
On February 24, she was provided with the fourth Covid-19 test which, however, showed a positive result this morning, February 25.
Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, said that Covid-19 relapses often do not infect others.
She has been brought back to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases for the treatment.
So far, many people in Vietnam have been re-infected with Covid-19 after their recovery. The relapse would be caused by dead fragments of the virus.
