HCM CITY — The first Miss Golf Vietnam 2021 kicked off in HCM City on Thursday, with the aim of conveying basic to advanced knowledge about golf, while contributing to the promotion and development of the sport in the country.
Organised by Royal Golf Vietnam Company Ltd, Miss Golf Vietnam 2021 is a beauty contest and reality TV show in 2021. The TV show will consist of eight episodes, along with two nights for the semi-final and final round broadcast live.
Candidates will experience four rounds in a six-month competition in which the final round will choose the top 30 contestants and be held from May 29 to June 26.
Miss Golf Vietnam 2021 will receive an exclusive crown designed by God Diamonds, a notable companion of Asia’s top beauty pageants, and a total prize of VNĐ2 billion (US$83,000).
Đàm Duy Long, head of the organisers, said: “Based on a series of training and challenges, Miss Golf Vietnam 2021 aims to discover the precious beauties consisting of these main elements: marvellous physique, striking golf skills, proper etiquette, participation in community activities, and stability throughout the competition. Their key roles play a vital companion in the journey of discovering golf’s potential as well as developing Việt Nam’s golf tourism, especially on the central coast. Our vision is to deliver valuable knowledge and understanding of golf to bring it one step closer to Vietnamese people.”
The professional advisory board for the contest includes Henri Hubert, Creative Director, who will be responsible for directing, training public performance skills, and building personal brand. Miss Ngọc Hân, Miss Vietnam 2010, and actress and singer Minh Hằng with years of experience as a coach from top-tier fashion competitions in Việt Nam, will provide guide for the contestants to improve their inner beauty and outer appearance. Doctor Nguyễn Thị Anh Hiền, director of L’amour Laser Center, will provide precious tips for flawless skin.
Lê Hùng Nam, General Secretary of Vietnam Golf Association, and PhD Đàm Duy Long, coach and head of the Organising Committee, director of Royal Golf Vietnam Company Ltd, will also join.
Based on the concept of each episode, the advisors will make their appearance and perform their role in order to lead the contestants in the best way to conquer challenges and deliver impressive performances.
It is expected that the number of golfers in Việt Nam will increase by 25 per cent per year and possibly double in the next five years. Golf would then become a real industry.
Miss Golf Vietnam 2021 will help the promising prospects of the rising golf movement. As a result, Việt Nam will be promoted as a safe golf destination and attract tourists from around the world. — VNS
