HCM CITY— Pop star Đàm Vĩnh Hưng has released his MV (music video) capturing images of Đà Lạt City, the summer resort city of flowers in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng.
The work features Chuyện Loài Hoa Dang Dở (Flower’s Story), one of famous bolero songs by composer Y Vũ who has nearly 50 years of experience in the industry.
It is part of the singer’s new album featuring a Vietnamese songs about flowers and women by veteran musicians of different periods. The album is expected to be released later this year.
Hưng worked with his producer, musician Minh Vi, owner of Kim Lợi Studio, a leading music studio of HCM City, to remix, record and film the MV with a new style.
“My MV showcases a love story of blood and tears with quality music,” said 49-year-old Hưng, who began his career after several years working as a barber.
Hưng invited well-known film actress Lý Nhã Kỳ to perform on the MV. The singer and his staff travelled to Đà Lạt to capture its famous tourist destinations during filming.
The MV’s official teaser, released on July 6, has attracted more than 65,800 views on YouTube.
“I have worked every day to improve my music to meet the taste of fans,” said Hưng, who became popular in 2002.
Hưng has released 70 albums in pop, dance and bolero. He has received several music prizes presented by TV stations, radios, and prestigious organisations, including six prizes for the Year’s Best Album and Best Singer in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2008 at the Làn Sóng Xanh (Blue Waves) Awards by Voice of HCM City Radio.
He has held seven concerts in cities such as Hà Nội, Hồ Chí Minh and Đà Nẵng and has also performed in concerts in the US and Europe.— VNS
