On March 16, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health confirmed the 61st coronavirus infection case who is located in Ninh Thuan Province, returned from Malaysia on a Vietjet Air’s flight (VJ826).
According to the announcement of Vietnam’s Ministry of Health, at 20:30 on March 13, tests done by Nha Trang’s Pasteur Institute show that the specimen sent by Ninh Thuan Center for Disease Control tested positive for the novel coronavirus, raising the total infection case to 61.
“Patient 61” is a 42-year-old male, located at Van Lam 3 Village, Phuoc Nam Commune, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan Province.
He headed Malaysia on February 27 and landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on VJ826 on March 4.
After coming back home, he had a sore throat and got a fever but didn’t use any medicine. On March 15, patient 61 came to Ninh Thuan General Hospital and got treatment. Up to now, he is treated at Ninh Thuan General Hospital.
On March 16, Vietnam records 4 coronavirus patients in total. The other three are a French tourist, a Vietnamese student and a flight attendant.
