Four Vietnamese participants all won medals at the International Biology Olympiad 2019 which was held from July 14-21 in Hungary according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
Hoang Minh Trung from Thanh Hoa-based Lam Son High School for Gifted Students won a silver medal while three other Vietnamese team members won bronze medals including Duong Tung Lam from Nghe An-based Phan Boi Chau High School for Gifted Students, Hoang Thi Huyen Trang from Phu Tho-based Hung Vuong High School for Gifted Students, and Ha Vu Huyen Linh from the High School for Gifted Students in Sciences under Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The International Biology Olympiad 2019 which was held from July 14-21 in Szeged City in Hungary saw the participation of 74 countries and territories.
According to the ministry, the results prove that Vietnam has made the right step in selecting and training gifted students and showed the efforts of the teachers. Earlier, six Vietnamese students also won two gold and four silver medals at the 60th International Mathematical Olympiad held in the UK.
The ministry will greet and honour the team at Noi Bai International Airport on July 25.D
