Tourism is an important part of Australia’s strong relationship with the fast-growing economies of Southeast Asia . Since the launch of “Invest: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040”, the country has stepped up its efforts across the region.
For Vietnam, tourism is considered a field that has reaped many practical results after cooperative efforts with Australia.
The cooperation between the Vietnamese and Australian governments has brought benefits to both countries. Vietnam has become Australia’s fastest growing international market. The number of visitors from Australia to our country is also higher than before the Covid-19 pandemic.
Australian Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell said promoting tourism between Australia and Vietnam was a key topic of discussion when he arrived in Vietnam to attend the Vietnam-Australia Economic Partnership Ministerial Meeting.
“It is encouraging to see the strong growth in the number of tourists from Vietnam to Australia. This is contributing to supporting the success and growth of Australian tourism businesses,” said Mr. Don Farrell.
Meanwhile, from the plan to organize tourism promotion activities in 2024 developed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam also identified Australia as one of the key markets, along with Japan, Korea, India, China, the UK, along with ASEAN regions, North America and Europe.
After a series of recent promotional programs in Australia, in the context of the increasingly expanding flight network connecting the two countries, the number of Australian visitors to Vietnam has also grown strongly. Thus, Vietnam is not only a potential source of visitors but also an interesting tourist destination for Australians.
