HÀ NỘI – The capital city of Hà Nội welcomed nearly 3.5 million tourists in the January-July period, a 33.2 per cent increase compared to the figure in the same period last year.
Of the total, 2.43 million are foreign visitors, up 43.4 per cent from the same period of 2023.
Meanwhile, the number of domestic visitors to Hà Nội reached 1.06 million, increasing by 14.7 per cent over the same period last year.
The city now has 3,760 tourist accommodation establishments with 71,200 rooms, of which 606 hotels are rated from 1-5 stars. In July, the average room occupancy rate of 1-5-star hotels was estimated at 58.6 per cent, down 9.2 per cent over the same period in 2023. In the first seven months, the average room occupancy rate of 1-5-star hotels reached 61.8 per cent, higher than the figure of 60.4 per cent in the same period in 2023.
Đặng Hương Giang, Director of the Hà Nội Department of Tourism, said that in the remaining months of the year, the city’s tourism sector will continue to promote destinations and invest in famous and traditional tourist sites.
It will also complete procedures and upgrade infrastructure to announce many new, diverse and attractive tourist sites. It also aims to promote tourism in craft villages, sightseeing, and shopping for high-quality products, she said. VNA/VNS
