The Independence Festival and Lai Chau Tourism – Culture Week 2024 will take place over 4 days (from August 31 to September 3, 2024) in Than Uyen district.

The opening ceremony of the Independence Festival and Lai Chau Tourism – Culture Week 2024, themed “Return to the Majestic Peaks of Lai Chau,” will be held at 8:00 PM on August 31, 2024, at the Than Uyen District Stadium; The closing ceremony will take place at 4:00 PM on September 2, 2024, at the Than Uyen District Central Hall.
Additionally, the Independence Festival and Lai Chau Tourism – Culture Week 2024 will feature various exciting activities such as cultural and artistic exchanges and performances; the 2024 KOMOMO Than Uyen International Marathon; a traditional cuisine competition of the ethnic groups in Than Uyen district; street festival programs; off-road motorbike races; kayak races; traditional sports competitions; exhibitions and introductions of tea and ginseng products; the cultural space of Lai Chau ethnic groups; Lai Chau tourism photo exhibitions; exhibitions of books, newspapers, local historical documents, and calligraphy art; displays and introductions of OCOP products and some characteristic agricultural products of the province; and a paragliding performance program with engines…
The event aims to introduce, promote, stimulate, and attract tourists, contributing to the development of tourism in the province in 2024 and beyond. It seeks to enhance linkages and cooperation in tourism development among localities, creating opportunities for travel businesses to explore, expand markets, and build new tours, introducing Lai Chau’s images, nature, and people to domestic and international tourists. At the same time, it raises awareness and responsibility among all levels, sectors, and ethnic communities in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values for tourism development.
This is one of the major events of the province held in Than Uyen district, promising to bring many new and surprising experiences to both local people and international tourists.
