Ms. Tran Thi Gia Hanh (34 years old) and Mr. Ha Hong Phuc, who live in Chau Thanh, An Giang, decided to return to their hometown to start a small business, no longer interested in the hustle and bustle of the city.
Ms. Hanh took advantage of the local agricultural advantages and opened the Nha Que coffee shop, seeing the growing number of people who were bored with the urban lifestyle and were looking for a peaceful countryside to travel and relax. The unique feature of this coffee shop is that it combines the coffee model with the fields to create a close space with enough virtual living corners.
Located in Ta Danh commune, Tri Ton district, An Giang, the cafe is situated amidst the fields that have two main seasons: rice season and flood season. The rice season is the most beautiful season of the year. During this season, visitors to the coffee shop will be able to see a 50m-long plank bridge spanning the fields connecting the shop to the “healing house”.
The “healing house” is a place with the most beautiful view and is checked in by most young people when coming to the shop. Here, visitors will be able to welcome the sunrise and sunset in a vast expanse of heaven and earth, which helps improve morale and reduce stress after tiring working hours.
When water begins to flow from the upper reaches of the Mekong River, the Southwest enters the flood season, which lasts from August to November. The coffee shop wears a new dark alluvial shirt instead of the green field color. During high water season, the boardwalk is flooded, making it impossible to walk out. Therefore, the shop will use rafts to take customers to the “healing house” to enjoy the endless space of water fields. In addition to rafting, visitors can also experience canoeing or bathing in the fields.
Customers coming to the coffee shop at different times will enjoy different spaces. When they immerse themselves in the green of young rice seedlings, they can smell the sweet scent of ripe rice and see the brown color of alluvium when floodwaters flood the fields. This creates a uniqueness that is difficult for any coffee shop to achieve.
The best time to visit the coffee shop is from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day when the weather becomes cool and the sunset disappears at the foot of the mountain. This is also the busiest peak hour. Besides the “healing house”, the shop also has areas decorated with ancient scenes of Southern villages, flower gardens, tree houses, and Mediterranean-style decorations for young people.
