Before the complicated development of Typhoon Noru in the Central region, VietinBank has just issued a notice that a number of branches/transaction offices in Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Quang Ngai will be temporarily closed from 12:00 on September 27, 2022 until September 28, 2022 or until further notice. ATMs in these areas are also temporarily closed.
VietinBank said that all the remaining branches in the system are still operating normally. The Bank encourages customers to choose online transactions on VietinBank iPay channel so that financial transactions will not be interrupted during this time.
Sacombank also announced that it will suspend transactions at some branches and transaction offices in the North Central region due to the impact of Storm No. 4. Specifically, all transaction points in Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Song Korea, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai will temporarily suspend trading from 13:00 on September 27 until further notice.
Similarly, Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB) announced to suspend transactions in Da Nang area due to the impact of Typhoon Noru from 12:00 on September 27 until the notice of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City.

Saigon – Hanoi Bank (SHB) also said that it will temporarily suspend the opening of some transaction points and temporarily suspend SHB ATM transactions in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai. Specifically, the bank will temporarily suspend 13 branches/transaction offices and 17 ATMs in these localities from 12pm on September 27 until there is a notice from the local government.
”The safety of employees, customers and the community is a top priority. The bank is ready to respond with plans and scenarios to ensure safety as well as maintain business continuity, ensuring benefits for customers”, emphasized SHB.
In order to proactively respond to typhoon No. 4 (typhoon Noru) and floods, as well as minimize damage caused by natural disasters, Indovina Bank Limited (IVB) announces transaction points in Da Nang area will be temporarily closed from 12:00 on September 27, 2022 until further notice. While IVB’s transaction points in Hoi An area will be temporarily closed from 12:00 on September 27, 2022 to the end of September 28, 2022.
During this time, electronic banking channels and hotlines of banks are still operating normally.
Noru is the fourth typhoon to enter the South China Sea this year. Experts estimate that Noru’s morphology is similar to that of Typhoon Xangsane, which hit Da Nang – Quang Nam in September 2006; Typhoon Ketsana hit Quang Nam – Quang Ngai at the end of September 2009. Both these storms caused heavy loss of life and property to the affected localities.
Responding to storms, on the morning of September 27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online meeting, the main bridge point was the Government Office, the headquarters of the People’s Committees of the provinces of Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and connect with the headquarters of the People’s Committee of districts, communes and wards where there is a risk of being affected by storms and landslides.
The Front Steering Committee against Typhoon Noru was also established in Da Nang. Currently, 8 provinces from Quang Binh to Phu Yen have banned the sea, especially Khanh Hoa from 14:00 today 10 airports in the Central and Central Highlands will be closed on September 27-28. Two trains SE22 departing at Saigon station on September 27 and SE21 train from Da Nang station on September 28 were canceled. Some other train pairs adjust their schedules.
Today, localities have evacuated people, the plan is that about 800,000 people in the affected area must be relocated. Nearly two million students from Quang Tri to Phu Yen are absent from school today. Da Nang city let civil servants take a break from 12 noon this afternoon, stopping market meetings across the city to focus on fighting storms.
