HCM CITY – Vietnam News Agency is holding an art exhibition of paintings made by former Vietnam News Agency journalists in HCM City until Friday.
The exhibition features 70 artworks by five artists, and is named Cọ Non (Young Brush), a nod to the fact that the artists are all retired journalists and have only picked up painting in the past few years.
The artworks consist of portraits, landscapes, stills and abstract art, mostly depicting scenery that the artists have come across in their many years as journalists.

Nguyễn Tiến Lễ, former deputy Editor-in-chief of Việt Nam News, said that the artworks here aim to portray the artists’ love and appreciation for their country, as well as for art in general.
“We have travelled to many provinces in Việt Nam. We have seen the people of Việt Nam through various kinds of activities and daily lives. A lot of these images have been stuck in our minds for many years. Our artworks are based on reality,” Lễ said.

Nguyễn Việt Anh, a visitor to the exhibition, said that he was really impressed with their artistic expressions and Việt Nam’s beauty depicted through these artworks.
The exhibition is held to celebrate the Vietnam News Agency’s 77-year anniversary (September 15, 1945 – September 15, 2022).
It opens at the Vietnam News Agency at 116 – 118 Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, HCM City’s District 3. – VNS
