HCM CITY — HCM City’s iconic Turtle Lake Hồ Con Rùa has been identified by the local authority as so important, it needs to be preserved.
Built in 1965, the lake offers as oasis in the centre of busy District 3, a place to chill and get away from the hustle and bustle the daily life that surrounds it.
In the past, a statue of turtle took pride of place in the park and although that’s long gone, the name has stayed.
HISTORIC: Little has changed at Turtle Lake since it was built in 1965.
Located right in the city centre, at the crossroads of Võ Văn Tần, Phạm Ngọc Thạch, Trần Cao Vân Streets, Turtle Lake is also a popular sightseeing spot in the heart of the vibrant city for both tourists and locals, especially on the weekend.

The city authority has identified the landmark as one of six historical, cultural and scenic areas of the city that need preservation.
