The Global Brand Awards, of the international magazine Global Brand Magazine, announced Zalo as the leading messaging app in Vietnam besides WeChat (China) and Whatsapp (USA).
This award is recognized based on the development of users, product quality and positive contributions to Zalo’s social life.
Headquartered in the UK, Global Brands Magazine is a global magazine brand, specializing in publishing news, reviews and analysis about brands. The Global Brands Awards has been held since 2013 with the aim of recognizing and honoring the contributions of outstanding companies in the world in many fields such as technology, education, hospitality, finance, etc. The winners are all reputable brands with quality products, conquering users in many markets.
Previously, according to the report of the fourth quarter of 2021 of Decision Lab, Zalo is the most popular messaging app in Vietnam, increasing by 10% compared to the previous quarter. The report also said that 48% of survey respondents chose Zalo as an app to communicate with relatives. Meanwhile, this figure of Facebook and Facebook Messenger is 27% and 20% respectively.
In mid-2021, the Adsota organization also recognized Zalo as the most popular messaging app in Vietnam.
Zalo currently has more than 70 million regular users and is the bridge that transfers more than 2 billion messages per day. In addition to providing free calling and texting services with fast speed and stable quality, this app is also equipped with many tools and utilities to serve the essential needs of users such as working, studying, looking up electricity and watering information, etc.
In recent years, Zalo has accompanied state agencies at all levels to implement digital transformation programs and build an e-government model. Specifically, by the end of 2021, all 63 provinces and cities across the country use Zalo as the main communication channel, helping to reduce administrative burden and effectively communicate with people.
According to a Data Reportal report in February, Vietnam currently has about 72.1 million Internet users, accounting for about 73.2% of the total population. This number shows that Vietnamese people actively participate in the digital environment with a continuous increase. That means that apps that are closely related to people’s lives like Zalo need to make more efforts to support solving needs arising according to the social situation.
