On February 23, The Drug Administration of Vietnam announced the sale price of the three Molnupiravir products. According to local media reports, the 400-mg Molravir drug produced by Boston Vietnam Pharmaceutical JSC will be priced at VND11,500 per pill.
Meanwhile, Movinavir produced by Mekophar Chemical Pharmaceutical JSC will cost VND8,675 per pill and Molnupiravir Stella (400 mg) from Stellapharm Vietnam will be sold at VND12,500 per pill.
On February 17, the Drug Administration of Vietnam approved the three antiviral medications to offer more choices to mild and moderate Covid-19 patients.
At present, Molnupiravir is being provided at no charge to Covid-19 patients with mild or no symptoms.
The Ministry of Health has allocated about 450,000 doses of Molnupiravir to 51 provinces and cities that are implementing the program on the controlled use of Molnupiravir for mild cases of Covid-19 in the community. The results of the Molnupiravir trial have shown that nearly all of the Covid-19 patients taking the drug had a low viral load, a very low rate of severe disease, and no deaths.
