A street in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh city was locked down due to a suspected Covid-19 infection reported. The suspected case is a 55-year-old woman, who resides at street number 10, Hiep Binh Chanh Ward of Thu Duc District.
According to a report by the Tuoi Tre Newspaper, the patient returned to Ho Chi Minh city from Da Nang city, she used to visit Da Nang Hospital for health check and treatment and visited another hospital in Ho Chi Minh city on July 22nd before putting herself in quarantine on July 23rd and tested positive for the coronavirus today.

Today evening, the authorities in Ho Chi Minh city have decided to reinstate enhanced social distancing regulations throughout the city due to complicated developments of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic.

The social distancing period in the city will last from 0:00 on July 31 until further notice, the HCMC’s People Committee announced on Thursday evening.
Non-essential businesses like bars, karaoke parlors, massage parlors, beauty clinics and entertainment facilities must be closed until further notice. Gatherings of more than 30 people in public places are prohibited. The Tuoi Tre newspaper citing a document issued by HCMC’s People Committee.
People must wear face masks and keep a two-meter distance from one another in public, as well as regularly wash their hands with soap or hand sanitizers.
The country has recorded 48 community-based cases, all traced back to Da Nang, since Saturday last week, after having gone 99 days without a single local transmission.
Quang Nam Province recorded five more Covid-19 cases Thursday, all linked to Da Nang Hospital, increasing Vietnam’s tally to 464 and active cases to 95.
All the five newly recorded Quang Nam cases are people who had taken care of patients at the Da Nang Hospital in the neighboring eponymous city.
