From January 1, 2025, Da Nang Airport will charge passengers for the use of a priority lane at the security screening checkpoint in Terminal 1. This makes Da Nang Airport the first in Vietnam to introduce this service.
The service is available for passengers in the following categories: CIP passengers (those using business-class meet-and-greet services) of Vietnamese airlines, business-class or equivalent passengers of all airlines, and members of loyalty programs of airlines that provide access to priority lanes at security checkpoints.
This service allows passengers to skip long queues, ensuring a faster passage through security checkpoints. It also helps to alleviate congestion during peak hours by streamlining the flow of passengers at security screening. The service fee is set at 100,000 VND per passenger.
According to Phan Kieu Hung, Director of Da Nang International Airport, the paid priority lane service is classified as a non-aviation service. It does not impact the capacity or quality of air transport services and does not alter the security screening procedures. The service compiles with operational regulations and facility usage guidelines.
The paid priority lane service is part of the broader “Fast-Track” offerings widely implemented at international airports such as Heathrow (London), Changi (Singapore), Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok), and Incheon (Seoul). The cost for such services at these airports ranges from $20 to $100 per use, depending on the airport and the specific service package.
