In the morning, the Health Ministry reported four new Covid-19 infections, of them, three are men aged 21-34 in northern Hai Duong Province, the Covid-19 epicenter ever since infections returned to Vietnam’s community on January 28, VNExpress reported.

The other patient is also a man, 50, in Gia Lai. His infection was detected following a mass testing after community transmissions spread widely in the Central Highlands province during the past week.
In the evening, the Health Ministry updated another 16 new cases, all of them are local residents in Hai Duong and link to people that have already been infected with the new coronavirus ever since the province became the Covid-19 hotspot on January 28.
With them added to the list, Vietnam has registered 418 domestic cases since January 28 and infections have so far spread to 12 cities and provinces, including 293 in Hai Duong and 47 in its neighbor Quang Ninh.
Tan Son Nhat international airport in Vietnam Ho Chi Minh city continues to operate normally after one of the airport staff tested positive for the coronavirus yesterday (Feb 6), according to airport authorities.

“The infected employee did not come into contact with passengers because he works for the luggage loading service. His infection has not affected the airport’s operation.” The deputy director of the airport told reporter.
“The airport has activated the highest level of pandemic prevention measures since the northern outbreak in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh provinces,” he added.
Vietnam has by far reported 2,001 cases and 533 of them are active.
