Hope from kindness in the midst of a pandemic
One bright spot in the 2022 happiness report is that the anxiety and stress index has decreased in the 2nd year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, in 2020 this index will increase by 8%, while in 2021 it will only increase by 4% compared to before the pandemic.
This year’s report found one piece of positive news amid growing global unrest – compassion between people.
The United Nations decided to use March 20 every year to celebrate the International Day of Happiness. A special thing is that on this day, the sun is located across the equator, so the length of day and night is equal – a symbol of the balance and harmony of the universe.
Up to now, 193 member countries, including Vietnam, have pledged to support, act and make more efforts to build a happy world and improve the quality of life.
