On March 22, Vietnam detects 19 new coronavirus cases. Below is updated information on 6 new cases (107 to 113).
“Patient 107” is a 25-year-old female. She is a graphic designer and living with “Patient 86” in Thanh Xuan, Hanoi. After “Patient 86” tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control conducted a sample of “Patient 107”, the test result showed positive on March 21. The Hanoi Center for Disease Control transferred patients to Dong Anh Hospital for Tropical Diseases for isolation and sent samples to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
“Patient 108” is a 19-year-old male located in Cau Giay, Hanoi. The patient was a Vietnamese student in the UK who returned home on March 18 on flight VN054 (seat number 3K), then was isolated and gathered in Hoa Binh hotel, Hoan Kiem (screening results upon entry of Hanoi Center for Disease Control on 18/3: negative). On March 20, patients with symptoms of mild cough and fever were transferred to Thanh Nhan Hospital for isolation and monitoring. On March 21, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control conducted a second sampling and got positive results, samples were sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology on March 21, 2020.
“Patient 109” is a 42-year-old male located in Hoang Mai, Hanoi. The patient was a lecturer of a British university, returned home on March 15, 2020 (transited via Bangkok, Thailand then from Thailand to Vietnam on TG560 flight, seat number 37E), then transferred Isolate and concentrate at Son Tay Military School. The first test done on March 15 showed a negative result. On March 20, he got a fever and was transferred to the Central Hospital of Tropical Diseases by the Hanoi Center for Disease Control. He was isolated and treated, on March 21. On the same day, tests done by The Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases showed positive for Covid-19.
“Patient 110” is a 19-year-old male located in Dong Da, Hanoi. He is an international student in the US, returned to Vietnam on March 19 (transiting in Japan, then from Japan to Hanoi on flight JL571, seat number 1A). He used to have close contact with a positive patient in the US on March 8. He got a fever when entry Vietnam and was immediately transferred to Dong Anh Central Tropical Diseases Hospital for isolation and treatment. On March 21, Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases took samples for testing. The 2nd test showed a positive result, samples were sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology on March 21.

“Patient 111” is a 25-year-old female located in Hai Hau, Nam Dinh. The patient is an international student in France, returned to Vietnam on March 18 on the flight VN018, seat number 36D. On March 19, at Noi Bai International Airport, the patient was screened and tested positive by the Hanoi Center for Disease Control, then the patient was transferred to a concentrated isolation area at Hung Yen Military School in An Thi Town, An Thi District, Hung Yen Province. On March 21, the samples were sent to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
“Patient 112” is a 30-year-old female located in Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. The patient is an international student in France. In France, he worked at a Vietnamese Pho Restaurant and had close contact with someone who has shown signs of coughing in recent times. On March 17, he came back to Vietnam on the flight VN018 (seat number 22C), entry to Noi Bai airport at 06:22 AM on March 18. The sample was then screened by the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (positive results on March 22) and sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology on March 21, 2020.
“Patient 113” is an 18-year-old female located in Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. She is a British student returning home on the flight VN054 (seat number 2A) on March 18 then isolated at Hoa Binh hotel, Hoan Kiem (1st screening test of the Testing Center disease control in Hanoi on March 18 for negative results). On March 20, she got a fever and chest tightness there was a slight fever, chest tightness was transferred to Dong Anh Central Tropical Diseases Hospital for isolation. On March 21, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control conducted a second sampling and got positive results, samples were sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology on March 21, 2020.
Currently, 6 patients are being isolated and treated at Dong Anh Central Tropical Diseases Hospital, their health is stable.
