Three Vietnamese citizens returning from Romania and Japan and two foreign experts from India and the Philippines are Vietnam’s latest Covid-19 patients.
“Patient 1308” is a 51-year-old Indian expert. He arrived at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport last Friday on IndiGo Airways flight 6E98679 and was sent to quarantine in the capital city.
Test results came back on Saturday confirmed he contracted the novel coronavirus. He is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2 in Hanoi.
“Patient 1309” is a 50-year-old man from central Ha Tinh Province and “patient 1310” is a 24-year-old resident of Ho Chi Minh City. They both landed at HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport on November 8 from Romania on Vietnam Airlines flight VN82.
They are being treated at HCMC’s Cu Chi field hospital, following coronavirus positive tests last Sunday.
“Patient 1311” is a 29-year-old flight attendant residing in HCMC’s Go Vap District. He came back from Japan on Vietnam Airlines flight VN311 on November 8, transited at Da Nang International Airport and was sent to quarantine in HCMC.
He is being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital after his test result came back Sunday as positive for the coronavirus.
“Patient 1312” is a 29-year-old Philippine expert. She landed at Noi Boi International Airport from South Korea on Asiana Airlines flight OZ733 last Wednesday and was sent to quarantine in Hanoi.
She is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2 after test result came last Saturday showed she contracted the virus.
Also on Monday, the Health Ministry declared nine Covid-19 patients recovered, raising the number of recoveries to 1,151.
Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,312, of these 123 are actice cases. Of the 123, 28 cases have tested negative at least once.
The death toll remained at 35. Many of the fatalities have been elderly patients with underlying conditions like diabetes and kidney failure.
No community transmission has been recorded in the country for almost three months.
The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed over 1.39 million lives worldwide out of over 59 million infections.
