Vietnam’s total number of Covid-19 cases from community transmission has remained unchanged at 691 for the 12th straight day as the Ministry of Health confirmed no fresh cases this morning, September 14.
Thus, Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally remained unchanged at 1,063, with three new imported cases confirmed last night, September 13.
Specifically, the new imported cases include a 23-year-old female resident of Nam Dinh Province, a 24-year-old man living in HCMC’s District 8, and another male patient, 26, residing in Tuyen Quang Province’s Yen Son District.
All of them flew back to Vietnam from Russia on Flight VN5062 which landed at Cam Ranh International Airport in Phu Yen Province on September 10. They were later quarantined at Regiment BB 888 in Tuy Hoa City of the province.
They had their samples taken for Covid-19 testing at the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute and their test results came back positive for the virus on September 13. They are all being quarantined and treated at the Phu Yen General Hospital.
On September 13, eight patients were announced to recover from Covid-19, including five at the Danang Lung Hospital and three at the Quang Nam Central General Hospital. However, two patients at the Danang Lung Hospital have suffered from other diseases, so they will continue staying at the hospital for treatment, while the others were released on the day.
After being released, they will be put under quarantine at home in line with the Ministry of Health’s regulations and have their health regularly checked by medical workers.
According to the national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control, up to now, more than 33,600 people having close contact with coronavirus cases or returning from virus-hit areas are being put in quarantine. Of the total, 489 people are being quarantined at local hospitals; over 16,200 individuals at centralized centers; and some 16,900 others at their houses.
Among the total active cases, 16 have tested negative for the virus once; 17, twice; and 21, three times.
Meanwhile, four cases are in very critical conditions.
In HCMC, the municipal Center for Disease Control reported that it has been 43 days since the city confirmed the latest community-transmitted Covid-19 case. In addition, all Covid-19 patients in the city have recovered.
