At 9:30 AM on March 18, Pasteur Institute announced 1 male patient in Ninh Thuan who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, bringing the total number of COVID-19 patients in Vietnam to 67 cases.
Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang said that in the evening of March 17, the Institute received 17 samples from Ninh Thuan Centers for Disease Control, which were samples collected from close contacts of COVID cases- 19 is currently concentrated in isolation in Ninh Thuan General Hospital.
Male patient, 36 years old, located at Van Lam 3 village, Phuoc Nam commune, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province. The patient shared the same flight with “Patient 61” to Malaysia on February 27 and returned Vietnam on 4-3 on the flight VJ826 from Malaysia to Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Currently the patient is being treated at the Department of Tropical Diseases Ninh Thuan General Hospital.
