A flight run by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has brought around 340 Vietnamese citizens from Australia and New Zealand home.
The flight, which landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Wednesday, transported the elderly, children under 18 years old, people with illnesses, and other people in extremely difficult circumstances.
Vietnamese representative agencies in Australia and New Zealand arranged staff members to help passengers to travel to airports in Sydney and Melbourne in Australia as well as assist them with boarding procedures.
Vietnam Airlines followed Covid-19 prevention regulations strictly during the flight.
On arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, all crewmembers and passengers were given health check-ups and quarantined in line with regulations.
Repatriation for disadvantaged Vietnamese citizens will be conducted based on the development of the pandemic and domestic quarantine capacity.
