Vietnamese carrier Vietjet will suspend all flights to and from China from February 1, 2020 over coronavirus concerns, the company said on Friday.
“Vietjet has already planned to suspend all of its flights to China,” it said in a statement. “The suspension is effective from February 1.”
On Thursday, Vietnam said it would stop issuing visas for Chinese tourists after the Southeast Asian country detected three new cases of the virus.
As of January 31 morning, the pneumonia outbreak caused by the new strain of coronavirus (nCoV) caused at least 213 deaths and more than 9,692 infected in China.
Vietnam has recorded five cases of individuals infected with the new coronavirus, two first cases in Ho Chi Minh City — a father and son from Wuhan. Tuesday this week, one of the first confirmed cases has recovered.
The outbreak first occurred in Wuhan, China, in late December 2019, and has now spread to 15 other countries with about 60 cases in Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East./.
