Vientiane is both the capital and the largest city, the political and economic center of Laos. The city lies on the banks of the Mekong River with picturesque beauty, ancient charm featuring famous architectural landmarks, temples, pagodas, numerous local festivals, and unique cuisine. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is a prominent economic, cultural, and tourist center with distinctive cultural features, vibrant modern life, and convenient connectivity to various destinations in Vietnam as well as internationally.
Vietjet Deputy General Director Nguyen Thanh Son shared: “The route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Vientiane not only shortens the travel time between Vietnam and Laos, expands opportunities for economic development, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two neighboring countries but also extends Vientiane’s connectivity to destinations in the region and the world along with Vietjet’s international flight network.”
For many years, Vietnam has consistently ranked second among countries sending tourists to Laos, and Laos is among the top 15 markets for Vietnamese tourism. Previously, Vietnam Airlines was the sole operator of the Ho Chi Minh City – Vientiane route with flight times ranging from over 3 hours to over 5 hours (connecting flights via Hanoi).
