UPM Raflatac announced its new logistics facility operations in Northern Vietnam will enable the company to significantly reduce lead time, build confidence with local customers and expand UPM Raflatac footprint in the Northern part of the country.
“This new facility in Northern Vietnam is a significant milestone for UPM Raflata. It is the first step in our plans to expand our operations in the North, and it will yield immediate results in terms of increasing our presence in the region and improving customer satisfaction,” said Thanh Nguyen, Country Manager of UPM Raflatac Vietnam – specialises in labels. “We have ambitious plans for further growth in Northern Vietnam, with potential for opening a full scale terminal in this part of the country in a couple of years.”
The new logistics facility is UPM Raflatac’s response to growing demand for innovative and sustainable packaging and labelling solutions in Vietnam. By having the logistics centre in the North, the company can offer better customer service for the locally based printers and converters, reducing lead time to 1 day for orders placed before 12 pm. This is a significant improvement from the previous arrangement, which involved shipping from Dong Nai terminal by trucks or trains, with lead time of up to 6 days.
