The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) will conduct a comprehensive examination of TikTok’s operations. It is expected that the examination will take place from May 15th to the end of May.
The MIC has announced six violations by TikTok in Vietnam. These violations include TikTok’s lack of effective control measures for content that violates political issues, opposes the Party and State, disseminates fake news, nonsense, harmful, and dangerous content to children. TikTok uses automatic distribution algorithms to create trends and spread view-bait content, regardless of the offensive nature, causing negative impacts on the community and young people.
In addition, TikTok has also expanded into e-commerce, leading to the third violation that the platform does not have effective measures to prevent commercial activities such as trading, selling, and advertising fake and counterfeit goods, drugs, and unverified health supplements.
