Yoga retreat is a form of vacation travel, combining Yoga – meditation activities under the guidance of a coach.
With the type of tourism that combines meditation and yoga, you will have a very precious time when you separate yourself from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy a quiet and fresh natural space.
Over the past five years, Asia has led in terms of the quantity of wellness tourism. The two Asian countries that lead the world in growth in this type of tourism are China and India, with 12 million and 17 million more Wellness trips, respectively, between 2015 and 2017, according to the Global Wellness Institute.
This new form of tourism soon developed on a large scale and well-invested, becoming an important business philosophy of many hotels and resorts around the world.
During the holiday, visitors will be practicing a special course to find spiritual balance. Experts will apply a separate treatment, meditation, yoga, daily massage…
Most wellness resorts are designed so that visitors can take time for themselves, explore nature, and enjoy a break from everyday life. Spas with treatments are also built on the resort’s premises so that visitors can restore their strength and find a balance in their minds.
Originating from India, yoga poses emphasize sitting meditation and deep breathing. In the West, Yoga Retreats tend to resemble stays at luxury resorts. While this trend is quite new in Vietnam, it is mostly understood as a premium service package for tourists at five-star resorts.
Notably, the two cities of Hanoi and Hoi An have been highly appreciated by Wego and TrustYou travel websites with factors that match visitors’ desire for Wellness tourism, entering the top 10 best tourist cities for Wellness services in Asia.
Pham Khac Loc, an English instructor and yoga instructor, said that currently besides swimming, fishing, or rowing, Yoga Retreat is a new and interesting experience for tourists when coming to resorts in coastal Glamping areas, for example in Binh Lap island (Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa).
Practicing yoga in the midst of the sea and islands creates a feeling of closeness to nature, relaxes the mind and brings positive energy to life.
Despite many favorable factors, Vietnam’s tourism industry must have a long-term orientation and the accommodation unit must also know how to effectively exploit this type of tourism, while preserving the landscape and raising awareness of environmental protection for tourists and local people, Mr. Loc emphasized.
