The overpass at Hoang Quoc Viet and Nguyen Van Huyen intersection in Hanoi’s Cau Giay District will open on August 28 and will help resolve some traffic issues.
The overpass costs VND560bn (USD24m) which came from the city’s budget and is the largest overpass in Hanoi. It is 278 metres long and 16 metres wide. The Hanoi Traffic Construction Project Management Board is rushing to complete the final tasks such as placing the manholes and painting road markings.
Le Van Nghia, head of the construction unit, said that the overpass was basically completed and would be transferred to the city at night. They have also completed planting the trees along Nguyen Van Huyen Street.
“In order to be on schedule, we’ve had to work all day long. Three teams with 80 employees in each team have taken turns to work,” he said.
This route runs through new urban areas in Hanoi and is expected to help further complete the city’s transportation network and improve the service sector and economic development in Cau Giay, Tay Ho and Bac Tu Liem districts.
