The first smart multi-storey car park in Vietnam’s Da Nang, located at 255 Phan Chau Trinh in Hai Chau District, received a total of 12 cars on 20 September, the first day of its 3 month-long trial operation.
According to a report of the Da Nang today, most customers who parked their vehicles at this automated car park expressed their satisfaction about its modern technical infrastructure and service quality. A large number of residents living nearby came to learn more about the operation of this automatic parking garage, and shown their intention to have their cars parked here in the coming days.
During its trial operation, the garage operates daily from 6:30am till 7:00pm, offering free-of-charge parking service for under 7-seater vehicles.
After the trial operation period ends, the Bridge and Road Management Company under the municipal Department of Transport will be in charge of carrying out another pilot operation lasting for 12 months, offering around-the-clock service and collecting parking fees.
Currently, the municipal Department of Transport is working closely with other relevant agencies to develop a plan to ban vehicles from being parked on streets located within a radius of about 250m from the newly-open car park in order to reduce traffic congestion.
In addition, more measures will be taken to encourage more residents to have their vehicles parked at this garage.
