The annual Terry Fox Run (TFR), which raises money for cancer research, is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City next month, the organizers said at a press conference on Monday.
The run, which is in its 23rd edition this year, will be organized on November 17 by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CanCham Vietnam) in collaboration with the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City.
The course will begin at Tan Trao Street in District 7 and go through the streets of Tan Phu, No.23, and Nguyen Luong Bang in the same district before finishing at the other end of the Tan Trao Street.
Participants can register for the run and purchase the official 2019 Terry Fox Run T-shirt via e-mail at terryfox@canchamvietnam.org or by visiting TerryFox-vn.org.
To date, over US$750 million has been pooled worldwide for cancer research in Terry’s name.
The Vietnam-hosted Terry Fox Run has been the largest single international Terry Fox Run in the world for the last three years, according to its organizers.
In 2018, the Vietnam run attracted more than 23,500 participants and raised over VND2.9 billion ($124,700) for cancer research in the Southeast Asian country, the organizers said in a press release.
