Many enterprises in the southern provinces continue to be thirsty for workers, but not all firms can easily recruit the necessary number of workers.
In Ho Chi Minh City, mostly in export processing zones and industrial zones such as: Tan Thuan, Tan Tao, Linh Trung, Binh Chieu, Vinh Loc, many businesses continue to hang banners and paste notices of recruitment in large numbers. , sometimes up to thousands of people. The salary announced by enterprises ranges from 7.5 – 17 million VND/month with many incentives such as personal bonuses, lunch packages, accommodation support, good working environment…
Mr. Pham Thanh Hai, recruitment officer of Cholimex Food Joint Stock Company, said that the company needs to recruit more than 1,000 workers from 18-42 years old in positions such as processing staff, goods inspection, sales… salary 9 million or more. In addition to salary, the company has many attractive policies for employees: support to find accommodation for remote workers, support money for people with COVID-19, reward for diligent productivity, ensure travel regime calendar, annual vacation.
Although posting recruitment information from the Tet holiday to recruit about 300 workers, Ms. Pham Thanh Thao, Human Resources Director of TP Garment Co., Ltd (HCMC) admitted that it is difficult to recruit enough people. “There are many reasons for employees to say goodbye to the company such as fear of the epidemic; have found a suitable job in the countryside; people anchored so they don’t come back to the city anymore… We went to a number of localities such as Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai; contact job placement centers; connected with a labor broker… but still managed to recruit very few workers” – Ms. Thao said.
According to Mr. Phan Ky Quan Triet, deputy director of the Center for forecasting human demand and labor market information in Ho Chi Minh City, in the first quarter of 2022, the city needs to recruit from 43,000 to 57,000 workers. In addition to full-time workers, businesses also need a large number of part-time workers. According to Mr. Triet, the reality is that many businesses in Ho Chi Minh City are finding it difficult to recruit the required quantity. In Dong Nai, Mr. Nong Van Dung, deputy director of the Dong Nai Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that businesses are in need of about 50,000 workers.
In Binh Duong province, in recent days, on the roads around the industrial park such as Kim Huy, Song Than, Dai Dang …, many businesses persistently set up tables on the street and arranged personnel to recruit workers. The salary announced by the enterprise on the recruitment board is from 6 to 12 million VND/month. Industries that have a high demand for labor are: Leather shoes, textiles, electronics, wood, food, trade and services.
Mr. Nguyen Lam, Director of Binh Duong Production – Trading Company added that two years ago, the average salary of employees at the company was about 4 to 5 million VND, if including overtime, about 7 million VND/month. However, this year, the company increased the average salary from 6 to 7 million dong, plus the overtime every month workers received from 10 to 12 million dong.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sang (from Thanh Hoa) said: “I find it very easy to apply for a job now. I came to Binh Duong from my hometown to ask an acquaintance to apply for a job. Although I did not have enough documents as prescribed, I still got it. The company representative said to go ahead and complete the profile later. Enterprises treat employees more comfortably than before, I feel appreciated.”
At Amata Industrial Park (Dong Nai), there are hundreds of businesses hanging recruitment boards with attractive salary and bonus conditions. Standing in front of the recruitment board, Ms. Dinh Tuyet Mai (from Dong Thap province) said: “Every company offers good benefits, but I will choose a company with clear benefits and stable Tet bonuses”.
According to psychologist, master Vu Thien Vuong, the monthly salary of employees may be higher next year than the previous year, but their spending levels are always fluctuating. Workers have to pay a lot of money for needs such as housing, meals, transportation, child rearing, medical care, filial piety. In addition, many people have to send monthly money back to their hometowns for family support. Therefore, according to Mr. Vuong, it is difficult to ensure the immediate needs of employees. Employees only stick around when they have a place to live.
