HCM CITY — GBA Oktoberfest, the largest German beer and food festival in Southeast Asia, will come to the central coastal city of Đà Nẵng for the first time this year in addition to taking place in Hà Nội and HCM City.
GBA Oktoberfest is an annual festival honouring German cuisine, fine craft beers, and a plethora of celebrations that reflect its history, traditions, and way of life, attracting 10,000 visitors every year.
Taking its roots from Munich, Germany, GBA Oktoberfest in Việt Nam is a celebration of authentic German fare, beer, and fun. The biggest annual cultural festival is co-hosted by the German Businesses Association (GBA), the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam), together with JW Marriot Hotel Hanoi, under the patronage of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hà Nội, and German Consulate General in HCM City.
For over 30 years, GBA Oktoberfest has become an annual event to bring unique German cultural and traditional experiences closer to the Vietnamese people. In addition to that, the festival has created a bridge for promoting the Việt Nam-Germany strategic partnership.
This year, the festivities will kick off each night from Thursday to Saturday, September 28-30 at JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi and at Furama Resort Danang on Friday, October 6.
In HCM City, the festival will take place at Nikko Saigon for three nights, from Thursday to Saturday, October 12-14.
The highlight of the festival in 2023 is Erdinger beer – one of Germany’s best – as exclusive beer supplier for HCM City. That inspired the name of this year’s event in HCM City “GBA-Erdinger Oktoberfest 2023”.
The festival will continue delivering the lively carnival atmosphere of Bavaria with explosive moments from the famous band O’zapft from Germany and Austria.
In addition, traditional German dishes are prepared by a German chef, along with a wide selection of premium German craft beers and other non-alcoholic beverages. Endless food and free-flowing drinks will be served throughout the night of the festival. This year, the lucky draw will bring unprecedented prizes to all attendees.
GBA Oktoberfest promises to bring an outstanding German cultural festival season with many interesting and unmissable experiences.
